The reserve team includes Cindy Hemmert, surrounded by teammates from left to right: Mary Severs, Betty Muth, Judy Kre- itzer, Abbie lselin, Joanne Zahora, Mary Schmidt, Susan Schmidt, Colleen Giambrone, Julie Haley, Laura Toscani, and Marcia Kelly. U Y Girls don't get too emotional, do they?? A new style of ball was started this year by Miss Ewald, girl's sports coach. Instead of fingertip control, the fists powered the ball over the net. Power-volleyball demanded hard practices and teamwork - both were evident in actual games, however, inexper- ience seemed to be the major factor in a 3-9 season. At the end of the season, the team participated in the Fairmont East Invita- tional, and placed second in a field of 10. 157
