CHS Begins Bicentennial Year The 75-76 school year began with the struggle of buying books and memorizing new class schedules. But, despite the tiring preparation, everyone managed to assemble at school on the first day with bright shining faces. The Carroll faculty was blessed with new additions to the staff. The new teachers last year included Sr. Gen, Miss Peck, Mr. Rohn, Mr. Coper, Mr. Rogers, Mr. Elwell, Mr. Felton, and our lovable County Prosecuting Attorney Mr. Jeff Sullivan. Besides the new faces in the faculty, many new students added a special spark of excitement. The freshmen class added 105 new Patriots who all grew to find going to Carroll a wonderful experience. As the end of the first week of school became a reality, we all hated for the weekend to come. Spirit Week Hxghhghts 75 atrrot ootball Highlighting the football season was Spirit Week, the week of the last home football game to be played at Carroll Stadium in '75, ln preparation for the homecoming game on friday, seniors, juniors, sophomores, and freshmen put forth a gallant effort to win the coveted Spirit Stick. Class competition included Hall decoration, colors, skit and song, wagon race, hat day, hillbilly day, Mr. lrresistable, pie eating, and the controversial volkswagen race. On friday the mass was celebrated in Holy Family followed by an assembly. At the assembly it was announced that the juniors had won the Spirit Stick in a close contest. On that same friday, the Patriots speared the Spartans with a piercing 42 - 13 homecoming victory. Saturday evening the homecoming dance was held in the Valley Mall at the Thoroughbred Restaurant. joan Corbin and Jim Dickman reigned as Queen and King over the festivities, a truly beautiful ending for Spirit Week '75.
