ani. 523.114, ,,,4 , . Wk, Skip Day 1972 On Wednesday, May 31st at 7:30 the Carroll High School parking lot was a panorama of lawn chairs, ice chests, a volleyball net and about 120 jubilant seniors. By 10 AM everyone had amassed at Columbia Park near Richland, all eager to begin a day of 'fun in the sun. ' The beautiful weather permitted anyone brave enough to try his luck at water skiing while others preferred the warmer fand saferj Water hole. Throughout the day, seniors and chaperones drummed up an action- packed softball game and a wild Volleyball game under two shady dogwoods. At noon the supply of hot- dogs and coke was quickly consumed by a ravenous crowd. By 5:30 the class of '72 was enroute to Yakima. Casualties? one splintered toe and 120 scorched seniors.
