In Dedication A nd Appreciation. . . Mrs. Janice Barnette We, the students and faculty of Carroll High School, gratefully dedicate our 1975 Eaglet to Mrs. Janice Barnette. Having been at Carroll High School for eleven years, she has been more than a teacher to her students. Her interest in their outside activities has been evidence of her devotion, and we hope this gift of dedication expresses our appreciation. Majoring in history and minoring in English and Physical Educa- tion, Mrs. Barnette earned her B.S. Degree at Troy State University and was honored with the title of Miss Troy State in 1950. She received her Master's of Education Degree from Auburn University. In her twenty-four years of teaching, she has taught at Goshen, Ozark Jr. High, and Carroll High. Mrs. Barnette is a member of the Ozark Education Association, Alabama Education Association, National Education Association, National Council of Teachers of English, Kappa Delta Pi, past Presi- dent of the Maude Martin Study Club, twenty years on the Troy State Student Teaching Council, Alpha Delta Kappa, Beta Sigma Phi, Personalities of the South in 1971 and 1972, Alabama's Dis- tinguished Personality in 1 973. She was cited by the governor for service in the essay contest for “Hire the Handicapped. Upon her resignation, Mrs. Barnette said, I was sorry to miss last year’s graduation, and I miss leaving this year’s class. Mrs. Barnette, we will miss you, too. 24
