Woodham 189 IN MEMORY OF JAMES CLINTON ADAMS On May 25, 1972, the Senior class lost James Clinton Jimmy'' Adams, a class- mate and beloved person to all who knew him. He died an unexpected and tragic death which seems so incomprehensible to us at this time. Jimmy was born on December 3, 1954, in Ozark, Alabama, and lived in Ozark all his life. He attended Carroll High School his freshman, sophomore, and junior years. Here Jimmy was a member of the Interact Club, C Club, and served on the annual staff. He was a two year letterman on the CHS golf team and had just been named co- business manager of the 1973 yearbook and secretary of the Interact Club at the time of his death. Jimmy loved people and people loved him. He was involved with life in the real sense of the word. Besides this he was a fine and wonderful person and will be missed by all. His death was such an untimely one. It's hard for us to realize that Jimmy will never be with us again, but somehow through Faith we seem to find a way to carry on. WHY? Why is there crime and hate here and there. Don’t people love and don't they care? Why are there wrecks on our highways today? Wrecks that take our friends away. Why are there drugs and all kinds of dope? These will only destroy high hopes. With all these things throughout the year. Life will only end in tears. Written by Jimmy April 1972 190 The Senior Class 1973 Senior Class Officers President — Robert Hatch Treasurer — Lynn Overstreet Vice-President — David Benefield Reporter — Jan Simpson Secretary — Adele Buchan The Senior year is a time of change and discovery. This year is no different. A whole new feeling permeates one s attitudes and actions. Each activity takes on a special significance and holds a new excitement. One no longer looks forward to seeing old friends again next year, but must say goodbye as he breaks old ties. It is a time of reaching new horizons, establishing new goals, or continuing to strive for old ones. It can be a sad time. but only a sadness that soon gives way to the exultation of discovering a new world of challenges and triumphs. Vicki Lynn Adcock Here's a sigh to those who love me. And a smile to those who hate; And whatever sky’s above, Here’s a heart for any fate. Patricia Anna Alexander You will do foolish things; But do them with enthusiasm. 191 $ f k Keith Braden Alford Today is the tomorrow, that I dreamed about yesterday. Virginia Marie Anderson I expect to pass through this world but once. Any good therefore, that I can do, or any kindness that I can show to any fellow creature, let me do it now. Let me not defer it or neglect it, for I shall not pass this way again. Anna Lesia Anderson Love is the only cement that can hold the world up. M ALMA MATER Our strong band can never be broken It can never die; Far surpassing wealth unspoken, Sealed by friendship's tie. CHORUS: Amici Osque Ad Aras Deep graven on each heart; Shall be found unwavering true. When we from life shall part. High School days are swiftly passing; Soon their sands are run. But while we live we'll ever cherish Friendships here begun.
