During the past three years, Mr. Edgar has promoted the expansion of courses, the adjustment of fewer grades (from 9th thru 12th to 10th thru 1 2th), the addition of the 500 hall, and the renovation of the school building. He also has faced the day-to-day responsibilities of revisions in study to meet the requirements of the Southern and State Associations. He has shown a sincere interest in each student, and works diligently with school organizations to map out plans and projects for the coming school year. Mr. Edgar not only serves the community in the facet of principal but he is a member of the Masons, Civitan Club, National Association of Secondary School Principals, AEA, and OEA, where he is publicity chairman. He has also been selected to participate in the Alabama Edu- cational Study Commission Conference. We wish to show our gratitude by paying this tribute to Mr. Charles K. At East Gate Junior High, John played football and was a member of the Drama Club and the Pep Club. He was voted Cutest” and Freshman Favorite. John loved music and played the guitar and drums. At Carroll High John was President of the bleacher bums , Vice-President of the Art Club, and French Club Treasurer. John has left our world, but his spirit will always be with us. We will have different ways of remembering him and different things we’ll remember about him but most of all his smile and his laughter. He is smiling on us now and waiting for the day when we’ll all meet with him again. IMMORTALITY Do not stand at my grave and weep . . . I am not there. I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow, I am the diamond glints on snow. I am the sunlight on ripened grain, I am the gentle autumn rain.
