In the year ot Our Lord one thousand nine hundred and forty-nine, the Kingdom of Eagleonia was established with the coronation ot its first king, Donald Ille, and queen, Patricia Dierker, in the presence of their taithlul subjects by the Most Reverend john Mason Connor, Titular Archbishop of Eagleonia. The court was entertained by the court jester, Al Gaylor. The assemblage was then serenaded by the Court Carolers, and a magnificent recessional concluded the ceremony amid the cheers ol the joyous subjects ot the realm. -Excerpt from Chronicles of the Kingdom oi Eagleonia by Reichmann and Cody One of the earliest activities sponsored by the Senior Class for the benefit of the Annual was the elec- tion of the Annual King and Queen. In preparation for this contest, Csee following pagej, posters, each of which was a clever likeness of a contestant, were drawn by our class artist, Jack Dolin. These were hung in the School Hall of Fame, where they formed the center of attraction for three weeks of strenuous campaign- ing. Every recess period found the voting booths swanned by ardent admirers eagerly dropping their mite into the box for their favorite candidate. The contest resulted in the election of Donald Ille as king and Patricia Dierker as queen. The other contestants, Charles Maguire, James Steichen, James Logsdon, Gerald Mayer, Carolyn Venard, Mary Beth Kruger, Mary Ellen Terrell and Betty Easterling, were given titles of special honor in the Kingdom of Eagleoniaf'
