FRENCH First year French introduces French culture, shown through songs, maps, pic- tures, and other materials. The second year emphasizes listening and speaking. French III requires more vocabulary, reading, writing, and oral recitation. In French IV, stronger emphasis is put on literature, composition, and oral expres- sion. SPANISH The Spanish program consists of four years, Spanish I, II, III, and IV. Spanish I introduced the basic grammar principles. Spanish II emphasizes listening and speakmg comprehension.
