4 Silhouettes seems a fitting theme for this year's Argosy. Silhouettes out- line persons, animals or inanimate ob- jects. This year's Argosy is like a silhouette because it outlines the year's activities. In a silhouette the most prominent features are recognized, and the yearbook, too, records the most outstanding features in school life. There is much left out in a silhouette, but this is filled in by the imagination of the viewer. Likewise, there is much background behind many of the pictures in the yearbook, and this is left to the memory of the students. just as sil- houettes usually portray an atmosphere of stillness and serenity, so the year- book marks a ceasing of the rush of school and a realization that another year has passed into the background.

Some of the things that made up part of school life were the dances held by the various organizations and the ballots that had to be counted to determine kings and queens. Much equipment had to be gotten ready for the various sports along with the concessions that provided refreshments during half-times. Then it was back to the cheers that lead the teams to victory. Lunch tickets, absent slips, pencils, tab- lets, and erasers made the book store a busy place, as well as the library which was a source of information for the re- ports due next period. Many hours of plan- ning were spent to make the popular sen- ior cords a true work of art.
