Home Ee. Offers Valuable Experience Mrs. Mi1ner's demonstrations provided various dishes for her girls to taste Home economics classes of- fer valuable experiences for girls who want to become good homemakers. Freshmen's main activity of the year was Working on color, line and design. Sophomores studied about and learned how to cook the various cuts of meats, and juniors studied child care. As a part of their study, juniors invited small children to come to Car- roll for play sessions. Senior girls Worked extensively with sewing and had a limited amount of cooking the first of the year.

Chorus Members Practice for Concerts The chorus found that practice makes perfect . They spent some time each day rehearsing under the guidance of Mr. p Parante. T The chorus not only entertained those at home but they traveled with the band and participated in many programs. Featured in the lower picture is Brenda Mullendore, drum major. In the hack- ground is the new band banner.

Art Students Develop Individual Styles. First period Art Class gained insight into space by designing freeforrns from pieces of Balsa Wood. Home Ec. girls learned basics of art in working with display cases. Oil painting was one of the highlights of the second period art class this year. Still life drawings, figure studies, printing painting, and sculpturing were just a few of the areas covered for vari- ous class projects. Many students developed their own skills by making posters signs, displays, and backdrops for the school. In the spring the stu- dents had a chance to display their year's Work along with the elementary and PSI IOTA Xl County Art Show. 39 Q C 2 ll lf i l
