At left, Sheryl Allen and Bill Koup show the importance of gestures in expression. journalism class gained ex- perience in interviewing and writing reviews, critiques and various types of news stories. The class was in charge of com- piling news for the school news- paper the fifth six weeks. A special feature was an advice column by a mysterious Cousin Carroll.

Fleld of Stud for Several Students. Timed Writings became routine in Mr. jones' typing classes, and students found they soon became proficient in not only speed, but accuracy. Manuscript typing was a problem to many, as two carbon copies were made. This presented quite a burden when it came to erasing mistakes. Composition of letters and practical use of other typing skills were studied in more advanced courses. 33

Speech and Hearing Aids Students Mrs. Stamper, teacher, is shown instructing the students. She helps them to combat their prob- lems through the use of special equipment. They also learn through various games which they enjoy while overcoming their problems. The school offers speech and hearing to students with speech or hearing defects. The de- partment helps to find and correct these defects.
