Business Courses Offer a Wide Bookkeeping classes were kept busy Working on practice sets, to gain experience in keep ing records for a small business. Mr. jones directed the students in the many transactions they recorded. The office practice class took charge of publication of the school paper this year. Aside from this and their regular class study, they took a trip to Purdue University to observe new types of equipment coming into use.

Students Learn Through Experiments. 'if Experimentation was used quite frequently in both chemistry and physics. Mr. Rieffel's chemistry classes found the im- portance of accuracy in measur- ing and the careful use of chemi- cals in obtaining the proper re- sults. New equipment made it possi- ble for Mr. Odden's physics class to perform several experi- ments. Reports were also given by students to learn of areas not covered in the book. W 3 I

Fleld of Stud for Several Students. Timed Writings became routine in Mr. jones' typing classes, and students found they soon became proficient in not only speed, but accuracy. Manuscript typing was a problem to many, as two carbon copies were made. This presented quite a burden when it came to erasing mistakes. Composition of letters and practical use of other typing skills were studied in more advanced courses. 33
