Biology Combines Plant and Animal Study. Dissection of fetal pigs was one of the new experiences of this year's biology classes. Using this more ad- vanced form of animal, the students were able to compare some of the structures observed to those of the human body. Mr. Eaton also stressed the import- ance of maintaining a healthy body. Besides this study, the students took care of several animals which were brought in. Some classroom techniques may seem strange, but they do prove a point.

General Science Serves As an Introduction Advanced study in the science department stems from an interest in a specific area studied in general science. This year Tom Od- den, teacher, covered several areas in the course, encour- aging those who excelled in a certain phase. Body structures became apparent when they had to be identified on a rat. Although it Wasn't always enjoyable, learning came easier through the use of real specimens Botany class studied the vari- ous parts of the plants and the different stages of growth. They also observed the types of flora common to a certain area. Being directed by Mr. Mills, the stu- dents carried on study of plants Lmder microscopes .
