Economics and Psychology Are New. Mike Humphrey talks to MI. Puett about a psychology problem. Many problems i provoking. n economics class were thought Economics and psychology were two new subjects added to the curriculum this year. Teachers, Mr. Rector and Mr. Puett, found one semester per class passed quickly. A field trip to the Lo- gansport State Hospital was taken as a supplement to the first semester psychology class.

U. S. History and Gov't Teach Patriotism U. S. history and government classes helped to make students better citizens. History taught the ideals and goals of our forefathers and the changes that have taken place in our country's policies toward ourselves and the rest of the world. Government was con- cerned With studying how the local, state, and national govern- ments function. Mr. Puett encouraged his students to take an active part in govern- pf, ment and be concerned with its policies . 20

World History and Geography Classes Study Past and Present Civilizations. World History and geography classes acquaint students with other countries and civilizations. By learning about the social, political and economic status of countries as well as the topography, climate and history, students can better understand problems the countries have. Many of these problems also apply to domestic situations. 22
