YEARBOOK HONORS FIRST SENIOR CLASS Challenged by the responsibility of creating the first yearbook for Carroll, the Anchor staff set a book of highest standards as their goal. Hours of work after school and on Saturdays were required to meet the deadlines. Staff members sold plastic covers and stamp- ed names on books to earn money for color and extra pages in the yearbook. Gordon Fritz, Tommy Coles and David Horton, who assisted with photography. are not pictured. Sherlene Byrd, Sandy Simmons, PAPER STAFF COVERS NEWS FOR STUDENTS Staff reporters buzz everywhere to get stories for the high school paper. Tension is high in the journal- ism room when the deadline ap- proaches. School spirit and high ideals are sponsored by the staff in their editorials and copy. In order to get new ideas and to compare notes with others, members of the staff attend press conferences. , I , 4' 'f 1 .
