Coach Ashton explains a point of strategy to Lawrence Thack- ston and Sidney Beauford while Coach Mitchell spots the field for the men in the press box. TIGER TEAM NEVER QUITS Five men make up the coaching staff of Carroll's Tiger football team. While Vernon Ashton is Carroll's first coach, he is not astrangerto Corpus Christi. He has built a very commendable record at Roy Miller and Grand Prairie while worlc- ing as Tom Pruett's right hand man. His easy going disposition and friendly rela- tionship with his boys makes Cotton an ideal choice for this position. Bruce Lawrence is coaching B-team football which will add great strength to the Tiger varsity in a short time. Murray C. Mitchell -assistant coach is also bas- ketball coach at Carroll. Kenneth Beard- en-assistant coach at Carroll will coach track also. David Donnan-assistant coach will organize and coach varsity baseball this year at Carroll.
