They haven't made any public performances but are planning a P. T. A. meeting and a Christmas assembly. There are to be new additions made to the choir at the beginning of the second semester. The choir may enter singing contests next Spring depending onthe size and ability to compete with other choirs. The choir is proud to have had two of the members, Linda Massey, and Mel- vin Meyers, who made regional. Melvin also made all-state. Mr. Smith, choir director, looks on as Barbara Beach um, choir accompanist, practices for a new number

FUTURE TEACHERS NAME CLUB FOR GREGG ln October, l957 the first Future Teachers' Of America Club organ- ized consisting of nineteen mem- bers. The regular meetings ofthe club are held the third Tuesday of each month, during homeroom period. The purpose of the organization isto explore teaching as a career Mrs. Dominy is serving as the first sponsor. Assisting their teachers are: Flo Neal, parliamentariangJanie Kirkpat- rick, presidentg Adele Hill, reporter. F. T. A. members often grade papers or check roll to gain experience in their profession. Beginning Latin students are: back row, Betsy Westbrook, Juan Mora, Carolyn Fears, Kathie Harris and Heather Walters. 'V Eight boys and Mrs. Pearce toast the team with grapeiuice at a Latin club party in the teacher's lounge. Left to right they are: Juan Mora, Jimmy Boles, Jerry Rogers, Willie Hardeman, Jim Han- sard, Mrs. Pearce, David Horton, Jon Bartnick and Tam Sparkrnan. An ancient Roman custom was when eating to start with eggs and end with apples. The club went along with this by starting their meal with stuffed eggs and ending with apples. LATIN CLUB STUDIES RCMAN LIFE, CULTURE Club officers are: Sue James, secretary, Jon Bartnick, president, Tom Sparkman, vice-president, and Mrs. Pearce, the sponsor and Latin teacher. On the board are coniugations of the verb, love, showing that the students study as well as have fun at their club functions. ,j ff' ,I ff Second year students prepare a bulletin board for the Latin class.
