Lady Saints Reach Goals At the beginning of the year, the Lady Saints set the goals of bettering their 29-10 1985 record, going undefeated in the Frontier Conference and winning the District 12 title. As predicted, the Saints did just that. After winning the District 12 championship, the Lady Saints hosted Kearney State of Nebraska. Playing to a full house, Carroll and Kearney State showed Helena fans an excellent match, but Kearney prevailed, winning the first three games in a best three-out-five match. The Saints lose three seniors, Diane Lederhos, Kelly Garver and Joanna Poage. Several individuals earned honors during Carroll's 35-10 season. Liz Garrett was named Frontier Conference MVP. Garrett and Jan Kaaina earned all district 12 and first team all conference honors. Joanna Poage was also named to the conference's first team while Kathleen Paulus and Beth Anderson received second team honors. Kelly Garver and Anderson were members of the academic all confernece team. Carroll's coach, Charlie Brown, was named the Frontier Conference Volleyball Coach of the Year.
