While one group is planning an assembly, another is preparing a class play. The cheerleaders wish to practice in the gym and the majorettes on the stage. Space for rehearsing is always at a premium in the auditorium. School began a week earlier for members of Carrick's Marching Band this year as they turned out fifty-seven strong to prepare for appearances at football games. This summer band program seemed to be the answer to the competition for time that students face during the regular school year. The band made its appearance at the Brentwood football game, full of pride in their new uniforms. Money for these uniforms was raised over a period of years in co-operation with community organiza- tions. The bright military appearance of the uni- forms, the music, and drill brought renewed inspira- tion to Carrick fans. It has been a year of hard work. of high hopes. of successes, and unforgettable memories. The members of this yearis band can look back with satisfaction and pride on their achievements: and those who graduate will always remember their music and performances gixen to the student body and to the community of Carrick. The peppy eight pose at half time. Making their fashion debut in white pleated skirts- and gold sweaters. the cheerleaders sparkled at the football games, basketball games, and assemblies, They practiced hard during the hot summer and cheered even when the team was losing.
