South Hills fought hard in the final quarter, and final- ly managed a 71-65 victory, pushing Carrick into the number three spot in the t ci y league. Standing to the back are Lowell Reyher, Pat Whalen, Bob Schubert, Dan Fanzo, Chuck Waz- enegger, Dave Butterworth, and Joe Scanlon. At the edge of the pool are Tony Perella, Jim Gruber, Al Klein, and Mike Cronin.-Standing behind Mike are Bill Goodall, Vince Elias, and Manager Hayden Henk. And Aquatics About to dive into the water are four more Tankmen: Jim Lehner, .lack Dudich, Bob Yarsky, and George Pfeil. Standing behind them are Dale Pinkerton, Norb Lippert, Bill Tusch, and Andy Sweet. The Carrick swimming squad had an uneventful season, losing nine meets and posting- only one victory. Carrick does however, have some very good swimmers Most of the Raider squad participated in the city qualifying meet. The Carrick boys placed in three out of six events. George Pfeil triumphed in both the fifty and one hundred yard free style. Dale Pinkerton placed first in the one hundred yard butter- fly event. Both boys qualified for the city finals. At the city finals held at the Allegheny High pool, Admiral Pfeil captured both the fifty yard and one hundred yard free-style events for the Blue and Gold. He swam the fifty yard free-style in record time being clocked at 25.4 seconds. Pinkerton placed third in the one hundred yard butterfly event, losing to the Rose brothers from Schenley High School who may be state champions.
