Text from Pages 1 - 136 of the 1988 volume:

The 1987-88 Panther Pause Staff Droudly dedicates this edition to the graduating class of 1988. The Road Not Taken Two roads diverged in a yellow wood, And sorry I could not travel both And be one traveler, long I stood And looked down one as far as I could To where it bent in the undergrowth; Then took the other, as just as fair. And having perhaps the better claim, Because it was grassy and wanted wear; Though; as for that, the passing there Had worn them really about the same. And both that morning equally lay In leaves no step had trodden black. Oh, I kept the first for another day! Yet knowing how way leads on to way, I doubted if I should ever come back. I shall be telling this with a sigh Somewhere ages and ages hence; Two roads diverged in a wood, and I — I took the one less traveled by. And that has made all the difference. Robert Frost High School Dedication We dedicate this Panther Pause to David and Christine Hinton, who have graced our campus for nine years. We extend our thanks to you both for your unstinting help and support throughout our high school years. — To you, Christine Hinton, for providing us with your stabilizing calmness and guidance in the library. To you, David Hinton, for being our 1 science and math teacher. You both enrich our lives, our school, and our community. MANY THANKS TO YOU BOTH!!! Elementary Dedication: Through the years we have come to know and love you. You have been with us here at C.H.S. since 1968. You have touched the lives of many students with your friendly spirit and vitality. You have shown us that we can learn and have fun at the same time. Our loss at your retirement will be your GAIN. ENJOY! V' OUR PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE Mr. Clayton Wooten As the year draws to an end, I want to thank teachers, students and parents for their support and cooperation. I would like to wish our seniors much success and happiness. You have worked hard for the past thirteen years and are now ready to enter into the world of work or to continue your formal education. As you will soon realize, your education never really stops, but continues throughout your life. Grasp every opportunity you are given and strive to achieve all that you can. To those of you who will be returning next year, thank you for a great '8 7-'88 year. Enjoy your summer and let's make next year even better! ACTIVITIES Jr. Rep: Kathy Carroll Escort: Spence Massey Soph. Rep: Sharon Colella Escort: Stephen Branch Homecoming '87 What a blast homecoming was! The Panthers really showed their pride and school spirit throughout the week. There was lots of competition between the classes and a good time was had by all! 10 Senior Honors Donna Gander Barber Valedictorian Sandy Spann Salutatorian Best All-Around Gail Creamer Mike Herrington Most Academic Donna Barber Sandy Spann Most Likely to Succeed Ronda Becker Curtis Carroll Cutest Koa Combs Danny Holton Wittiest Tammy Rickards Patrick Sullivan Friendliest Genny McKenzie Geoff Story Most Athletic Marnie Millender Van Simmons School 13 Senior Miss January Miss February Miss March Sarah B own Jennifer Hicks Sandy Shiver 14 Miss April Paula Dasher Miss May Donna Barber Miss June Traci Johnson Miss July Koa Combs Miss October Ginger Segree Miss November Marnie Millender Miss September Gail Creamer Miss December Beth Putnal Centerfolds Miss August Ronda Becker IfiqgMBWSi Jack Carpenter e S 11th Grade Kathy Carrol Matt Kelly 16 N I N E T EE N I ATHLETICS Varsity Football Coaches: Watford.
