Mrs. Williams has taught typing and business courses at Carrabelle High School for eight years, and during that time she has earned the love and respect of her students and fellow workers. Her concern for the students has always come first in her teaching. She wants her students to learn as much as possible from her in the short time they have with her. The faculty and the students of Carrabelle High School are proud to have Mrs. Williams as one of their teachers. 2 ELEMENTARY DEDICATION How long can a fine teacher go unrecognized by the Flame annual staff? We don't know, but it gives the 1979 FLAME staff a chance to make up for past oversights. We are more than just proud to dedicate this year's edition of the FLAME to Mrs. Pitt Mattair. There is hardly a soul living in Carrabelle who has not had his life affected by the love and thoughtfulness of our “ Miss Pitt. Miss Pitt has taught at Carrabelle for more years than she will tell us, but you can tell she has taught many years with devotion by the fact that she has over 200 accumulated sick days to her credit. % Also you can tell that she doesn't like to have her picture taken. The picture in the lower left corner is not a picture of Miss Pitt being tired or thoughtful — although she probably was both — but she is trying to hide her face from the camera. We couldn't even get a picture of her to go with her third grade class, and had to use one we found in the old annual staff pictures. Carrabelle School and the town of Carrabelle are proud to have Miss Pitt a part of their community. And the 1979 FLAME considers it a privilege to dedicate the annual to her. 3 EDITOR’S MESSAGE Through the past few years of our lives we have been learning and preparing for another part of our lives. How we spend this time will have a great effect on the coming years. As with all things, we have done our best to prepare carefully and learn as much as we possibly could before taking off into the unknown. That long awaited “someday” is finally here and there's no turning back. As editor of the 1978-79 Flame staff 1 would like to wish everyone all the luck in the world and hope that this issue of Flame will help bring back those great memories we share throughout our school years. C. W. HOLDER REMEMBER by Christina Rossetti Remember me when I am gone away. Gone far away into the silent land; When you can no more hold me by the hand. Nor I half turn to go. yet turning stay. Remember me when no more, day by day. You tell me of our future that you planned; Only remember me; you understand It will be too late to counsel then or pray. Yet if you should forget me for a while And afterward remember, do not grieve; For if the darkness and corruption leave A vestige of the thoughts that once I had. Better by far you should forget and smile Than that you should remember and be sad. SENIOR ACHIEVEMENTS Zoe Bnckelnian —Class President 2. Class Treasurer 3. Class Vice President 4.
