TARPON 1969-1970 ALMA MATER On the city's western border Reared against the sky Proudly stands our Alma Mater As the years go by. Forward ever be our motto Conquer and prevail Hail to thee our Alma Mater Hail Carrabelle, all hail. DEDICATION MISS PATRICIA WARTHAN When Miss Warthan first came to C.H.S. she was making her debut into the lives of many students who will never forget her. In the past five years she has inspired students to make useful the life ahead of them. She is an example to most and a friend to all who let her. Her teaching career plays an important role in her life. She taught at C.H.S. for four years and left to continue her education. This year she returned to the student body which received her with open arms. She is teaching biology and is the guidance counselor to both students ana teacners. In your honor Miss Warthan and with very deep sincerity and appreciation for your understanding and knowing comments, we dedicate the 1969-70 Tarpon to you. A friend and counselor to all. 2 CONTENTS No! It's like this. EDITOR'S MESSAGE Life is full of happiness and even though at times we feel as if school is one of the sadder parts, it is the most important. School is the backbone of youth. The habits we form in school will be the habits we carry with us throughout our lives. In future years we will cherish memories of friends ... classes ... teachers ... ball games ... and activities. The 1970 Tarpon has tried to help us recall these times for future memory and enjoyment. Sincerely, FACULTY Life is sometimes gay even for a principal! FACULTY SNAPSHOTS 6 MR. PIERRE KILBOURN B. Under die guidance of Mr. Mikel Clark, the council carried out the tremendous task of planning and supervising the Homecoming festivities. This year's council also initiated a system of monitoring the halls which discouraged a great deal of disturbing traffic. The council's latest and most controversial project is an attempt to regulate the dress and appearance of CHS students.
