Senior Class History The senior class of 1952 was the first class to enter the eighth grade at Caroline High School. Though we weren ' t overjoyed at the prospect of another school year, now on the eve of graduation, we have few regrets. That year we got a taste of every course of study Caroline offered and planned our future courses. We also had our first opportunity to engage in the social and scholastic activities of Caroline High. As freshmen we experienced another first at Caroline, our first football game. The first football team in Caroline county. Our team made a good showing, too, by winning three, losing three, and tying one. By our sophomore year we had begun to grow up. and also had begun to take on responsibilities. There were no juniors that year, so the responsibility of enter- taining the seniors fell on us. After much discussion, we decided on a banquet and dance. None of us seniors will ever forget the work and the fun we had getting ready for that big affair. The prom was a hugh success and will linger long in our mem- ories. The Caroline High Band also originated that year and had its first concert, thanks to our patient instructor. Mr. Schmidt. During our junior year, we assumed, to a greater extent, the dignity befitting upper classmen. In addition to that we decided that graduation was drawing near, and it wasn ' t at all a bad idea to take our studies more seriously than we had pre- viously done. We also started our first dramatics club under the direction of Mr. DuBose and gave a charming little comedy entitled Little Darling. Mr. DuBose also sponsored our first prayer meeting group that year. Then came the best year of all--our senior year. No senior will ever forget the hustle and bustle of the last year at high school. What with cap and gown measure- ments, class ring picking and practicing the senior play, Old Doc, by Jean Lee Latham, selecting a motto, and commencement rehearsal, our senior life has been a very busy one. Our sponsor. Miss Conway, has been most helpful in guiding us and making our last year a memorable and wonderful experience. Our class motto is Not merely to exist, but to amount to something in life. Our class colors are green and white.
