The rivalry of the two classes ended the night the seniors got their revenge. The seniors were led by Felicia Durham who scored against the juniors. Sore muscles and hard breathing didn't stop these two teams from playing with their best ability. The seniors experience helped them to excel to the i end, while the juniors inexperi- ence proved to be a great handi- cap. The seniors showed great improvement since last year but the juniors got the experience they needed for next year's game. The girls got only a slight taste of what goes into a game of football, but let's just say, Guys do it betterl 0 chance 3 Bi 59 girl O aawmtf - :Ns Q , misss? Sportsf57

1 . 1 Having lost six players from the l98O squad, four of which were starters, this was definitely a rebuilding year for the Lady Trojans. Only two seniors, Kim Miles, hitter, and Elaina Mar- shall, setter, returned from last year's starting team. However, with a I6-I3 regular season re- cord and a third place confer- ence finish, this young team compiled more wins this season than any team in the four years of volleyball at Carolina. The success of this season was largely due to the hard work in off-season and pre-season of this group of athletes. With one junior, six sophomores, and six freshman returning, a strong, experienced nucleus remains for the next season. - Coach Betty Moore VBI' ito O0 .E :E Q. V5 Sportsf59
