Students interested in de- veloping their musical skills may take one of three levels of cho- rus, guitar, strings, or band. The art department offers beginning art classes. advanced, and crafts. 2. Mrs. Shelly All four academic areas are taught in the Special Education Department of Carolina. Ms. Judy Parker taught the learning disability self-contained class. Mrs. Judy Shelley taught Educa- ble Mentally Handicapped self- contained class. The resource class teachers teach only English and math. Mrs. Ophelia Mitchell and Miss Libby Goodwin taught L.D. re- source. Miss Nancy Southerlin taught E.M.H. resource. facult interaction Exif Teachers at Carolina are a dedi- cated friendly, and enthusiastic group as a whole. Many of our fac- ulty members give freely of their own time to sponsor school func- tions. One of the few times the staff meets as a group, is at Wednesday afternoon faculty meetings. Smaller groups meet during their planning periods. The time that faculty members share proves to be enriching as well as relaxing. I. Faculty members look forward to their regular Wednesday afternoon meetings. 2. Mrs. Edwards gives Mrs. Young advice about her crosswork. 3. Mrs. Scripture, Mrs. Zende, Mrs. Har- ris, and Mrs. Hopkins exchange ideas in the faculty lounge. 4. Mr. Massey illustrates a musical point. 5. Yet another Wednesday afternoon meeting inspires the teachers to meet the coming week. 6. A band student readies his instrument for storage. 7. Miss McGaha confers with Miss South- erlin.
