This is The Class That Was First To Pass From The School That Caro Built June 3, 1959 the first graduating class from the new Caro High School said farewell to their carefree days and walked into the jaws of the waiting world, There was no senior trip this year so seniors had more time to devote to their studies ftheoreticallyj. The new system with everyone taldng six subjects kept them hopping and hoping for May 27. At first they missed the old study hall with its many and varied opportu- nities, but everyone finally became accustomed to the new schedule. Senicrs worked together on class projects during '58 and '59, Their homecoming float was first on the list, and while much time was spent chasing stray hammers and the habitually lost float chairman, it gave them a chance to work together. The Senior Prom, Enchanted Forest, left the decorating masterminds of the Class of '59 with problems. They came through with flying colors and an ultra modern forest without using, tape, glue, taclcs, a' staples. And you can't hardly get them ldnd no more. May 1 the class took aff, The first legalized skip day in many a year was spent raising Cain and then trying to put him to bed again at night. They had calmed down considerably by May 29, sobered by final exams, when they entertained their mothers at the Senior Tea.. The class prophecy, giftatocry and last will a.nd testament were read, much to the amusement and chagrin of the class. Sunday, May 31 seniors and their families asembled for baccalaureate services at the Methodist Church. They were solemn and even a little sad as they listened to Revered Churchil.1's sermon., and thought of the big day that was coming, all too soon. Finally after 13 years the big day arrived. The Class of '59 was ready, but not altogether willing to leave C. H. S.
