Open House On November 11 1954 Open House was held at Carney H1gh School to gxve the parents an opportunlty to see how the classes were belng operated Classes were con ducted 1n the same manner as on ordmary school days Lunch was furnxshed by the school Pames On September Z8 1954 the Sophomores sponsored the flrst teen age party for the h1gh school Lunch consxsted of cake and pop On February 19 1955 the Sophomores sponsored the f1rst roller skatxng party the K C Hall xn Escanaba Chrlstmas Party the1r fxrst concert and the nmth and tenth grade gxrls glee club sang The Nadeau school classes presented a Chrxstxnas play Candy was gxven to all students Formal Tea The Sophomore g1r1s entertamed at a formal tea for Chr1stmas on December Z1 1954 The mothers of the gxrls all the teachers and also the w1ves of the school board members were lnvxted Teen age Safety Conference The tenth grade class of Carney part1c1pated xn a teen age safety conference held at the Menommee I-hgh School February l 1955 The purpose of the meetmg was to drscuss teen age drxvxng problems We were guests of the Herald Leader for lunch 1 .
