Dr. Edward Schatz, Vice President for Academic Affairs, has many responsibilities which keep him busy every day. Some of his duties include assigning tenure to faculty members and research planning. As the Provost of both Mellon College of Science and Carnegie Institute of Technology, he oversees research and educational programs in each college. Like the other chief administrators. Dr. Schatz affirmed that the various demands of his job never become routine.
