Though we never noticed it, this was a time for many things, especially grow' ing up. We strived to become more mature. For the sophomores this meant step- ping down off of their high horse of leading the Jr. High to places of ser- vitude in High School. 4 For Juniors, it meant taking on the responsibility of putting on the Jr.-Sr. Prom. Then there are the upperclassmen, the 'SENIORSR A title where maturity just comes naturally. Although maturity was taken rather jokingly at times, maturity was seriously measured Qwithout regard to one's agej, but by one's dedication --' a dedication, to one's self, to others, and to the school. Wildcat dedication was visible when the football team and band stayed late after school on the field during cool brisk evenings, when the cheerleaders met after school to decorate halls to help build spirit for our sporting events whether it be football, basketball, baseball, or track. Wildcat dedication led to our suc- cess: but what was the true measure of success? For some, it was the satisfaction of knowing that they had tried. The measure of success be- longed to the individual. Only that person knew if he had given it his all through the year of this 1984-85: a year of Happenings. , W, A.A, ,WM W,W.WM,if,-15,,,fQ,w,1g, fgfyif ww, .:i,Afy,i: Wm,iam-my ,-,S iv, ,Ws,m,g,,g,f V,,:f,, 5.5. ,,,,-WW,lf,1S,fS,mwwm,,57-mm,,,hf,,,1,I ,zyh ,,,,,,,,,,1Q,fm.gy-F1S,f,5,w,mfm,swm,f U,fx, 5 yrfv, mwi ,. ,f-,,,.fw:if'i- law,-W-fw,,ff,'15,fw-ff2zMf?w,Mzi:ffis,ww W., f,.f,,-,,g,fm,-wg, M . - :sg-Wf1wwfmg-m3,wmy:mm xsuw gf, , fm, M, 5,.f,m .2,g,.mM,,e,,M,m,,mmg,,,M,q,,,,,.?,,,,.,,,,,, ,,Mg, ,,m,p5gg5,,g,s.,sm , ,L,, ,..,.,. fl, ..,,. ,,, ..,,,..,...,,, , -v,.. Go' was a very active part of all school activities. lt has been said he was a participant in the very first football game he ever saw. Whether it was community members, administrators, teachers, peers or girls, all who came in contact with Go' learned to appreciate and love him. We hope his year in CHS will prove to be a beneficial time of his life and we wish for him the best of everything. Carnegie Board Education Jerry Holsted, Monty Morrow Vice President Clerk 'UH Ron Johnson Carl Drummond Member Member Sa' John Paul Clay President District ll Representative Oklahoma State School Boards Association, Board of Directors Y it 7 K Administration Locked inside the pages of this book are the keys to many memories for all of us who had a part in the Carnegie Schools during 84-85. I hope those memories are mostly pleasant ones, but then, sad memories are a part of life, too, aren't they? Another hope l have is that the school has helped provide you with the skills necessary to move forward to the next phase of your life, whatever that may be. lt has certainly been an exciting year for many of our students at the elementary schools. They have gotten to enjoy two brand new buildings and remodeling of the other. We hope those facilities have enhanced their learn- ing opportunities and will do so for years and years to come. Again, congratulations are in order to Mrs. Phillips and her staff for assembling the thoughts and pictures that remind us so well of the Wildcat Happenings of 84-85.
