Life is how we take it, With a grin or with a frowng When in life's onward battle We are up or down. Or if misfortune come or lot, In darkness or in day We keep our faith and hope To light the darkened way. Then life is just a journey To a fairer world above, So if We're friends and neighbors And live in peace and love And strive to help some brother To a wise and better fateg Then all at last shall enter The far-famed pearly gate. -Elma Mauk E : lllllllllllllllIllllllllllIlIlllllllllllIlllIlIllIIlIIIlIlIlllIlq l1921 Q ' lllllllllllllllllllllllllIllllllllIlllllllIllllllllllllllllllllllla m. It will conquor the most stubborn time-lock of ignorance, super-- stition or prejudice. The rings of KNOWLEDGE constitute the ladder of preferment. Promotion waits on him who really KNOWS his life work. Banking today is a highly systematized, high- ly specialized industry. It has expanded into many departments, each calling for the ut- most degree of technical skill. The economic security of the entire community depends up- on the accuracy of a bank's KNOWLEDGE of human nature, industrial conditions, crop pros- pects and a host of other activities. Basic KNOWLEDGE underlies the conduct of every department-and there is no phase of banking omitted in our service. Though We have had many years of experience We are never too old to learn.
