THLETIC ASSOCIATION The Athletic Association is the foundation of Carnegie High's athletic program. Since it controls all forms of athletics, it lS one of the vital parts of the school. The responsibilities of the Athletic Association are many and require a great deal of time and effort. The most important of these are: the scheduling of gamesg purchasing new equipmentg providing transportation for the playersg hiring and paying the officialsg and, of course, coaching and training the teams. Dr. Hickes and Dr. Fleischer serve as advisors and Mr. Speziale is faculty manager. He has the enviable job of collecting all receipts and paying all Page 11 bills. Miss Greschner is physical edu- cation director andcoordinator for all girl sports. Mr. Zaney is boys' physical educa- tion director and head football coach. Mr. Stockum is head baseball and bas- ketball coach and assistant football coach. Mr. Cross, Mr. D'Alessandro, and Mr. Marcenelle are assistant foot- ball coaches. Mr. Sawhill is head Wrestling coach. Mr. Svvenn is assist- ant wrestling coach. Mr. Bandyk is coach of the golf team. Mr. Hartley is the coach of the rifle team. To these people We owe a debt of gratitude for helping our teams com- pile favorable records in all sports.

BO RD OF EDUCATION The Board of Education consists of seven members who are elected by the townspeople for a term of six years. A solicitor is appointed by the board and works with Dr. Hickes, as the administrative head, under the supervision of the school board. These men are faced with problems concerning the whole community as well as basic school business and acti- vities. Their meetings, held on the sec- ond Monday of each month, are al- ways open to the public to help solve the problems of any student or tax- payer. Any difficulty will receive in- dividual attention and careful consid eration in an attempt to correct it Another of the many responsibili- ties of the Carnegie High School Board is to extend every educational opportunity to each member of this community and to offer adults, as well as students, the use of the new and modern facilities within the school building.
