Hickes came to the Carnegie School District from Glassport High seven years ago to assume the responsibilities of being Superintendent of Schools. During his tenure in office he has Won the respect of the entire student body. More than once he has demonstrated his capabilities and Wise judgment in inspiring our class. We are thankful for his friendliness and helpg We wish him many pleasant years at C. H. S. Miss Dombroski Miss. Dee Dombroski is Dr. Hickes' secretary. She has held this position since her graduation from C. H. S. in 1955. De- spite her work, she still finds time to cheer the Tartan sports team on to victory.

Dr. Fleischer Dr. Fleischer and the Class of 1958 ar- rived at the doors of Carnegie High School at the same time. During our three years together, he has guided us throughmany trying times, one of which was the change to the new high school in our sophomore year. Because of his help and guidance, the Class of 1958 already has a record number of college acceptances. For these and many other things We seniors thank him and Wish him the best of luck in the future. Barbara Williams Miss Barbara Williams, better known as Barb, is secretary to Dr. Fleischer. Barb has served in this capacity since her gradu- ation from Carnegie High with the Class of 1950. She takes an active part in the activi- ties of C. H. S. by sponsoring the Golden Rule Tri-Hi-Y. Her smiling face can be seen at all home sports contests as she cheers for the Tart- ans. We lwill all miss her when We gradu- ate. Page 8 Dr. Fleischer l Miss Barbara Williams

BO RD OF EDUCATION The Board of Education consists of seven members who are elected by the townspeople for a term of six years. A solicitor is appointed by the board and works with Dr. Hickes, as the administrative head, under the supervision of the school board. These men are faced with problems concerning the whole community as well as basic school business and acti- vities. Their meetings, held on the sec- ond Monday of each month, are al- ways open to the public to help solve the problems of any student or tax- payer. Any difficulty will receive in- dividual attention and careful consid eration in an attempt to correct it Another of the many responsibili- ties of the Carnegie High School Board is to extend every educational opportunity to each member of this community and to offer adults, as well as students, the use of the new and modern facilities within the school building. It was through the untiring efforts of this group of men that the new Car- negie High School became a reality, and it is because of this that years from now, as students walk through the halls of Carnegie High, we sin- cerely hope that they will be as proud of it and our school board as we are today Mr Schnepp Mr Bateman Mr Kahn Mr Firth Mr Garner Dr H1Ck6S Mr Coll, Mr Lesko .
