The end of a school-free three months filled with swimming, dancing, sleeping late, and just plain running around. Suddenly, before you know it, you find yourself at the beginning; the starting of a new year. As you get off the bus and look for your new homeroom, you start to miss the carefree, lazy summer. But gradually as the doors open and you see your old friends, you think of the football and basketball games, the dances, the Ball, the Prom, and all the other activities you enjoy in school, you start to welcome the new year. Of course, we can’t forget the faculty. They, too, have had a relaxing, and enjoyable summer. But they must be ready to meet a new group of students, and prepare for the coming year. They are ready to begin; and now, you are. So let’s see what the 1970-71 school year will bring. Berardi gray Along with our fabulous football season, we can’t forget our great pep rallies, which added so much to our SPIRIT! The Speech Class did a wonderful job with their skits, and on these pages you will recall some of the really hilarious moments. The cheerleader, majorettes, and the band must also be remembered; they added a very important part to our team support. As the spirit stick was raised, can’t you hear the cheering of the Seniors, Juniors, and Sophomores as they competed to win it? They are elected by a public whose intentions are to make good and intelligent citizens out of their sons and daughters. We, the sons and daughters, have praised these men, cursed them, and laughed with them. We all will hold our own memories of them. Whether these memories will be good or bad in later years, we all will remember that they were just doing their job”. Others stood out in the wind, their branches bent and fell. Those of us who walk in light must help the ones in darkness up. For that’s what life is all about, and love is all there is to life. Each of us was made by God, beautiful in His mind’s eye. Those of us that turned out sound should look across our shoulders once and help the weak ones to their feet. It only takes an outstretched hand. Debra Zappone William Zban SENIOR INDEX William Bowlen General Art Club 4; F.C.A. 4.
