After the merger with Carmichaels Borough, our school district has been named Carmichaels Area School District and our school has been named Carmichaels Area High School. Going along with the changing of names, the students have changed the name of the annual from The Cumbcrlander to The Area Echo. The staff is proud to have the privilege of producing the first edition of The Area Echo. It has been our purpose to produce an annual of which you can be proud and from which you can recall, both now and in years to come, good work and happy times and know that it was all very much worthwhile. MR. W. A. ATALSKI Assistant Supervising Principal of Carmichaels Area School District Mr. Waller A. Atalski To Mrs. Ruth M. Crago, a kind, considerate, and patient teacher who has devoted many, many hours of her life in urging, assisting, encouraging, and guiding pupils of our area in making the right choice for their happy futures. I have found her always willing to devote her time to pupils and teachers and to help them with their various problems. In the few, short years that we have been as- sociated, I have gained great admiration and respect for her knowledge, judgment, and sin- cerity. Mrs. Crago’s retirement will create a void in our school that will long be realized.
