USTANG OFFENSIVE A powerful offense and an unyielding defense drove the Mustang football squad to a well- deserved victorious season, Coach Naxey Davis, with Ron Burton, Tom Sutton, and jerry Boston kept a razor-sharp team rolling up an impres- sive record. Over 150 total points were tallied by the offense, and the defensive squad did their part to keep opponents' scores low. In spite of several injuries and substitutions teamwork and team spirit remained high. Sev- era-l boys, including quarterback Armondo Acosta, were forced to remain out of action for most of the season because of injuries. The power-packed Mustangs overcame any draw- backs and made the most of their opportunities to show a record worthy of a super-team. Houston Central Highland I-leizer Eunice Colts ZCOLT FOOTBALL 6-13 14-O O-19 O-6 O--38 Starting off with a rough year the Colts lost ground when they came up against the tougher and more experienced teams in New Mexico. These now hardened veterans will make 1968 a Mighty Mustang Year when they come up against the high school pro's. With determination the team has shown great sportsmanship. Future prospects for foot- ball are many among this team.
