CHESS CL UB SPEECH CLUB During lunch, members of the chess club can be found huddled over their boards moving and counter-moving. Their noon- time maneuvers help them cultivate a keen eye and cool head while deeping a competitive spirit. The club provides an opportunity to have a good time while improving chess playing skills. Members of the speech and debate club spend long hours preparing debates and speeches, but their efforts do not go without rewards. The best prepared stu- dents travel with the club to out- of-town tournaments, where they compete with students from schools throughout the state in both debate and individual events.
