mank J. llasmzlo Assistant Principal In reflecting the theme of shadows for the Purple Shield this year, we may describe the effect of those who have created their own shadow based on attitudes and performance while attending Carlsbad High School. During the 1965 66 school year, the student leaders developed a school crest which exemplifies the attributes for which the graduates and students of CHS have created and cast as a shadow of their greatness over the fields on which this institution stands. With the shadow of this beautiful crest emblazoned in purple and white, and crowned by a Lancer--students who attend Carlsbad High School will be aware of the true spirit of the school called Carlsbad, and create a shadow of quality for themselves.
