Johnny, a well known member of the Junior class met his death less than a month before the 1953-54 school year started, Had he lived he would have been one of the Cavemen cheerleaders and Business Manager of the Key Club. He was active in many of the school ac- tivities and had a very pleasing personality. We, the Echo Staff, would like to express our deepest sympathy to the family and friends of a wonderful person, who we think even in his short life was a real success. Success is being friendly when another needs a friendg It's in the cheery words you speak, and in the coins you lendg Success is not alone in skill and deeds of daring greatg It's in the roses that you plant beside your garden gate. Success is being big of heart and clean and broad of mindg It's being faithful to your friends, and to the stranger kindg It's in the friends whom you love, and all they learn from you--- Success depends on character and everything you do. ,M- STUDENT BODY OFFICERS President- - - - - Mike Sweeney Vice President- - - - - Joe Rogers Secretary- - - - Helen Johnson Business Manager- - - - - Harold Riley ADMINISTRATION AN D FACU LTY Rl f ff by 'X WC J fi Y f i W by 7 f if w .WT I YXHZXSZTJIXX if f Q by Q7 v gg W I , U I xg 7, A' I J 9562 give 1 gg-. fifiixi X4 2 X2 XX 5 ' I XQQ f gauze! dacdldaa R.U. TOM HANSEN Principal To CHS Citizens: Our ECHO this year is but another evidence of the high level of cooperative student-faculty planning which permits and supports the varied ac- tivities of CHS. Our annual will provide us with a picture record of most of these activities. But there are many aspects of high school life which cannot be imprinted on any page but which are, in many ways, more important because of the permanent images which they leave upon the heart. An annual may be lost but these inner images will be ours forever. we of the faculty hope that these images of the mind and heart will become dearer to you with each passing year. We also wish for you the hap- piness and satisfaction which comes only from honorable work well done. Sincerely, W U QP L! Dir I :Af gm WQEMMQ W W 'M wif QWWNW W A GN XKNCNWQQ5 GSW?
