The CAAMA (Carlmont Associa- tion for the Advancement of Music Appreciation) celebrated Beethoven ' s birthday on December 16. Peter Gunn day came next, sponsored by the tough- er ' 1 senior boys. Holding up the tradition of the past two years, the Carlmomtor staff again paid tribute to the greatest woman in history, Susan B. Anthony. Interplanetary A. M. Cutler day was celebrated on February 24. Dedicated French III students planned the surprise party under the direction of A. M. Cutler himself. GIRLS RIDE ON TO THE FIELD The Carlmont-Sequoia game was well attended by people who came to see the crowning of the sports queen as well as the action on the field. The five finalists rode out onto the field, each trying not to fall out of the car, wave, and look nonchalant at the same time. The A.V. crew must have been overcome by the excitement of the occasion because the microphone didn ' t work. Even without the microphone, however, everyone present knew that Sandy Hildebrand was chosen queen. After she was crowned, Sandy and the other four girls were escorted off the field, the game was resumed, and the A.V. crew quietly crept out of the stadium. The five finalists pictured below are (1-r) Judy Manning, Bobbi Petitclerc, Marilyn Moar, Sandy Hildebrand, and Brooksie Howe. MESSENGER BRINGS NEWS OF ANTIGONE ' S BROTHER ' S BURIAL Antigone ANTIGONE The fall play, Antigone, scored another success for the drama department. Jean An ' houiTs version of the classic story was presented on a tri ' angular platform in the center of room B-10. Being so close to WHOLE CAST IS IMMOBILE AS THE CHORUS SETS THE SCENE the stage, actors made those in the audience feel as if they were actually a part of the play. The whole cast did a marvelous job; no one fell off the stage, dropped a stitch or missed a line.
