Carlisle — As is becoming increasingly evident each day, Carlisle has evolved into pretty much of a little city within itself — a micropolis, so to speak, with everything from hotdogs to haircuts within a pebble s fling of every- thing else. The changes and improvements which have been made within the past year or so were, as always, trifocal in purpose: To make Carlisle an even better school; in so doing, to make the school a home; and, above all, to give both aims first priority. Students learn what they live, and live what they learn: consequently, a home is, in the end, every man’s Outfitting a late arrival at the school’s new quarter- master. Carlisle’s new coin-operated washers and dryers are available seven days a week. The school’s new drycleaning service is a welcomed convenience to all. Livin’ the good life without gettin’ fat . . . well, obese, at any rate. 19 6

An intellectual climate in which any one of the three basic elements :: home, school and church is absent, is as lifeless as would be an actual : sical climate lacking any one of the vital necessities of sustenance, sunlight or air. It is Carlisle’s purpose that cadets be exposed to just those conditions which develop them in mind, body and spirit. A city owes its citizens no less.
