DEDICATED TO MAJ. WILLIS F. MARTIN We of the annual staff take great pleasure in dedicating the 1964 Rebel to Major Wick Martin. Major Martin has been at Carlisle for 11 years. In his time here he has handled grades and is now in charge of the student bank and advisor to the Golf team. He has seen his son come here to teach, and then go on to continue his education. Major Martin is well known by the cadets, especially on Wednesday. As we have said he is well known and, due to his wit and willingness to help, well liked. We are sure the cadet corps agrees with us that this dedication is well de- served. 4

PRESIDENT Colonel James F. Risher Colonel Risher was born in Hampton County, South Carolina. Upon his graduation from The Citadel he had to choose between a military career and one of teaching. He taught in Colle- ton County and for two years was the Superin- tendent of Ehrliardt High School. He began teaching at Carlisle in 1924, and four years later was made Headmaster. In 1989 he bought Carlisle, and he purchased Camden in 1959. He has held many important positions in commun- ity and national organizations. Col. Risher has in some way helped or influenced every cadet coming to Carlisle. HEADMASTER Colonel William R. Risher Born in Ehrhardt in 1927, Colonel Risher attended Bamberg grade school and grad- uated from Carlisle in 1944. Like his father he too graduated from The Citadel. After his graduation from The Citadel in 1947 he went to the University of North Carolina for graduate work. In 1948 he came to Carlisle to teach and in 1958 he became headmaster of Carlisle He is very active in the community and takes a true interest in all the cadets. We are very luclcy to have a man such as this for our Headmaster.
