FOREWORD . . . At last graduation has come. We have finally begun to realize just how much these years at Carlisle have enrichened our lives. Our functions, our arguments, our teachers and roommates, all of these things that we once took for granted now begin to have a more complex yet beautiful meaning, never before noticed. In years to come, we will look back with an even greater realization of the beauty of these precious times, and will recollect the many happy memories weaved in such a short period of time. But tomorrow, when we look back on all of this beauty and grandeur, all of these experiences are not seen. Time, “that devil”, reaches out and dims the light cast upon the fond memories. Actions change, people, places; facts begin to get hazy and blot the memory from ’neath our eyes. It is then the real purpose of THE REBEL to bring into focus these nebulous truths, and keep alive and clear the many happy thoughts of these, the most cherished days of our lives.
