As we leave now, perhaps never to re- turn, we remember Carlisle as a series of experiences, and as life goes on we will often think back and remember fondly some inci- dent of our life here. In the future, one may wish to return to the past and savor the memories he has of the life he experienced here. But memories may grow dim with the years, and one may not be able to remember what he felt, what he saw, and what was said. This, then, is the mission of the 1961 Rebel: to contain within its pages life at Carlisle, those experiences that shaped our lives and made our years here richer and fuller. If, then, in the future, one reads over our edition and remembers once again what Carlisle was to him, our mission will have been accomplished. Thank You, The 1961 Rebel Staff. 2
