PROLOGUE As another great year of Carlisle Cadet life comes to a close, we of the Rebel Staff, through careful planning, team work, and concise but complete composition, wish to present to our fellow cadets, the faculty, and other readers of the 1960 Rebel, not merely a yearbook, but something that can be looked back into over and over again with fond memories. In this presentation, we have portrayed the life of a cadet at Carlisle. We have reviewed scenes of the military structure, scholastic program, and building of the school. In doing this we have tried to tell the story of the school and the people within it. We sincerely hope that our endeavor to form and compose a synopsis of the life, and a place where what may well be the turning point in many a boy’s life where he transforms childhood into manhood, will surpass your utmost expectations. 4
