FOREWORD In creating the 1957 REBEL, the staff has attempted to do more than to produce “just another yearbook”. We realize that you, as an individual cadet, have a most important part in making Carlisle what it is, in writing its history, in developing its traditions. People and events recorded herein will have an influ- ence on the Carlisle of the future and on the man that you will be in years to come. It is, then, our fond hope that this book will effectively record the people and events of an important year of your life, and in the distant future, serve as a means whereby you can turn back the passage of time, to relive and recap- ture those memories which will then be so dear to you.
