Non-Commissioned Officers Club This year, for the first time in the history of Carlisle, the non-commissioned officers of the battalion have organized a club. While this club is essentially for the purpose of promoting better under- standing and cooperation between officers and men, it is also active socially. The club has its meetings each Saturday night at which time discussions are held on school affairs and problems which confront these men. Suggestions are made for improvement with the idea that through them a better school and military organization will he developed. At the present, the club is having a difficult time in keeping a president. Their first chief execu- tive graduated in February and went into the army. Then the next two received commissions and were therefore ineligible for membership in the club. The saying that the non-commissioned officers are the backbone of any military unit is as true here as it is in the army. The corporals and sergeants hold the battalion together.
