V., ,...-,, Class Prophecy I was walking along the street the other day, when a big man in a little Sputnik came by and asked me if I would like to ride into the future. As we passed over the forty-eight states, he told me that . . . Olivia Amaden is an RCA Victor recording artist. lt's been said that she has her own private disk jockey. Richard Barlow is now with the Chicago Bears. He is their A-1 water boy, working his way up. Billy Beaty is in charge of photography for the new magazine, Southern Belle. Edward Brandt has a new experiment that really has him out of this world. He has now established residence on the moon. Pat Brown has opened a business school in Little .Rock for all girls who are in the business of getting a man. Barbara Caldwell has just found the 100 on car licenses and is waiting for the man. Martha Cartwright took a civil service exam and is now doing secret service work. She told me all about it. Esther Cochran is running the Failes Hotel in Humnoke. Arkansas. Herbert Colclasure is writing his seventh volume on his great game hunts in Africa. Jo-Ann Cook has a job drawing horses for a publishing company. She's really gone WESTern this time. Martha Douglass has a diamond that would knock your eyes out. She said she thought she would never get it paid for, but she was determined to have one. Lynn Doyle is a lawyer working for the firm of Whole Wit, Half Wit, and Nit Wit, Inc. Margaret Eads is head nurse at the Mayo Brothers' Clinic. Frances Halijan is attending the University, only she seems to be having a little bit of trouble- she's gone six years and they still haven't given her a diploma. Bobby Hamric runs a funeral parlor. That seemed the best investment of his sober personality. Joyce Hanks Uhiren has joined the WACs and has received an officer's rating so that she can give the orders in the family. Robert Horton is warden at Sing Sing. Thank goodness he made it THAT way. Charles Jackson has achieved his life ambition. He is now a dairy farmer. W. H. Kittler now has the largest ranch in the worldeworm ranch, that is. Clarice Laster has taken Schultzie's place on the Bob Cummings Show. Jim Martin owns a large parking lot. He says, There ain't much money in this business, but I sometimes get to drive a Cadillac. Bobby Measles is a famous New York City child psychologist. .lune Moody has just published her latest best seller, Murder as a Fine Art. Martha Morrison surprised us all by going to St. Louis to become a swimming instructor. lAnd we didn't even know she could swim.J Jerry Palsa, who was always up in the air about something, has his own air line. Alice Raborn is now co-owner of the Hudson Foundation. David Raborn now owns a large chain of bowling alleys. They extend from Screeton Switch to Hamilton. Carolyn Ricks has moved to California where she has a full time job squeezing lemons. Beverly Scott is a graduate of the University of Arkansas. She says her college work is a big help because she grew up in town and never learned how to can food, keep house, slop hogs, milk cows, etc. Oh, didn't you know? She's a farmer's wife. Joan Smith spends her spare time taking Paul lll to see his favorite westerns. Fern Stanley is the main cover girl for the Southern Belle magazine. Carolyn Stauber is modeling bathing suits for the Smart Shop in New York. Joyce Tenison is now editor of the New York Tribune. Orlie Jean Turner is a beauty shop operator. She has quite a job on her hands because some women just can't be made beautiful. Delbert Warren has just signed a contract with CBS Television to telecast his wrestling bouts.

'W' I. lass Histor As we Seniors of '58 look into the past, we remember that September day in 194-6 when we walked through the door of that Little Red School House which is now only a memory. Of the fifty little scared brats, under the guidance of Mrs. George Stanley, Richard Barlow, Billy Beaty, Edward Brandt, JoAnn Cook, Lynn Doyle, Margaret Eads, Frances Ann Halijan, Joyce Hanks Uhiren, Robert Horton, Jim Martin, June Moody, Martha Morrison, David Raborn, Beverly Scott, Joan Smith, and Carolyn Stauber have stuck together through all twelve years in good old CHS. Barbara Caldwell, Charles Jackson, and Clarice Laster started here, left, and then returned to finish. Having completed our ABC's, we proudly moved across the hall where we met our second grade teacher, Mrs. W. C. Boatman. At semester we were placed under the hands of Mrs. Robert Love. The newcomers are Jerry Palsa and Joyce Tenison. Charles Jackson left us to enter another school. Mrs. J. D. Martin greeted us in the third grade with the multiplication table. Here, we recall the making of jack-o-lanterns and bean bags. Oh! how we will always remember the war of bean bags and the mess they left when the stitches broke. Olivia Amaden and W. H. Kittler joined the class this year. The year passed quickly, and we took another step. Now we were members of the fourth grade with Mrs. C. W. Calhoun, as teacher. Here, Alice Raborn joined the class with Joyce Tenison leaving. During the fifth grade, Miss Hazel Barr, our teacher, tried to teach us, among other things, to folk dance. There were no new entries during this year. We were now so large that the class had to be divided into two sections. The teachers were Mrs. J. C. Rouse and Miss Erma Teague. The new faces were identified as those of Patsy Brown and Esther Cochran. The seventh grade seemed to be most difficult. Being in a new school building. changing rooms at different periods, and missing our recess. Mrs. Minnie Hicks helped us find our way through the hustle and bustle. Bobby Heasels increased the enrollment. Our eighth year was under the sponsorship of Coach Justin Camp. Carolyn Ricks was our new member while Barbara Caldwell left us behind. ' Our Freshman year was as exciting as the rest. For the first time we were given the liberty to choose some of the subjects we wished to take. Bobby Hamric was our only new member. Clarice Laster left at the end of the year. We Sophomores were joined by Martha Cartwright. Charles Jackson, Fern Stanley, and Orlie Jean Turner and by this time we were well on our way to the top. Delightful Miss Clara Sims sponsored our class. We were guided through our Junior year my Miss Joan Abbott and Mrs. Edith Shannon. We had added four to our roll. They were Herbert Colclasure, Clarice Laster, Joyce Tenison, and Delbert Warren. This was a big year for each member. We made a hit with the play, The Moon Makes Three and closed the year with the J unior-Senior Banquet, titled Calypso At last a Senior! We are sponsored by Principal David Riner and Mrs. David Riner, with Barbara Caldwell, Martha Douglass, and Thornton Kelly joining the final year to make thirty-six strong. We cleared 8912.82 from the Halloween Carnival for our Senior Memorial, paid our division of the bleachers, and scored a victory in the Halloween and Annual Contest. We are now wearing our class rings and acting as dignified Seniors. At semester we're enjoying Senior privileges of breaking in the lunch line and having an optional study hall each day. We are looking forward to the Senior Play, our Senior Trip to Florida-we hope, and on return, our Junior-Senior Banquet and greatest of all, the graduation! Qur school days will long be remembered as each of us go a different way to meet the oppor- tunlties awaiting us in the future.
