All the school policies and expenditures for the year are deter- mined by this group. They are constantly striving for the betterment of the school system. UtCtfiJlC MR. O. J. MITCHELL Friend . . . Ad,viser . Administrator MRS. REBA CRIDER Not only does Mrs. Crider act as Mr. Mitchell's secretary, the school's book- keeper-treasurer, and the faculty's helper, but also as the confidante of the student body. Because of her help, the entire school runs more smoothly. Responsibility for school life falls squarely on the shoulders of the school administrator. Mr. Mitchell's devotion to student advancement and his untiring ef- forts to promote scholastic achievement are recog- nized and appreciated by the community and student body alike. Supervision of classrooms and hallways are one of a principal's main responsibilities - a duty hard on the feet as well as the mind says Mr. M. Boys, I think we should have a talk. Strike up the band! Truer words will never be spoken. Carlisle County's band has proven this by playing at many school activities, under the direction of Mr. Doyle Eddings. Sing! Sing! Sing! Is the motto of the proud Carlisle County High School chorus. They have demonstrated this many times throughout the year be participating in school activities. Anyone can be proud of such a chorus. AGRICULTURE HOME ECONOMICS All students learn the many complicated jobs con- nected with farming. Scientific methods, modem machinery, and advanced farming are also taught. Instruction in maintaining the name home, not just house is a major objective. Foods, clothing, housing, child-care and management are major areas. INDUSTRIAL ARTS Are these our future builders? Bookcases, cabinets and tables were among the useful items made by the students. BUSINESS This course prepares students for jobs of tomorrow as well as providing them with usable skills for person al use. 'Zt aye ENGLISH SPEECH In English composition we strive for clarity, beauty, and accuracy in expressing our best thoughts. In litera- ture we work to understand great writers' interpretations. We work to achieve clarity and forcefulness in social and formal speech and in all real life situations. These include pantomime, panel discussions, and the play. LATIN FRENCH Students in Latin are not only enlarging their vocabulary Here students learn the proper background for the with translation, but also comparing ancient Rome life study of French and the modern usage, with modern life. s4cac(etHtc SCIENCE General science, biology, chemistry, and physics all provide an education of all the Universe whether it be plants and animals, chemical compositions, or heat, light, sound, etc. HISTORY All the world's a stage, all the men and women merely players. They have their exits and entrances. In this space age we are writing the next act for the players who follow. The commit- tee was established to improve the attitude of the students toward citizenship and to provide an outlet for student participation in improving the school facilities. The committee consists of two representatives from each homeroom. One student was elected from each homeroom by student vote; and one student was appointed from each homeroom by the faculty. These representatives form a steering committee to guide and direct the student projects. A school beautification project is already underway. Trees and shrubs have been planted and a clean-up drive is in progress. The committee is planning a spring campaign to arouse community in- terest in the Carlisle County Schools. s W «' .. “Seat ‘Dxecced CLAUDETTE SIMS STEWART MORRIS TTfoct tdelef tc Succeed MARILYN JENNINGS MARANN CLARK BARRY PERRY 'prtcudlteat SAMMY TODD (Puteat JUDY BROWN BOB RIDGWAY 'rtyu K4VU U4 JACKY ELSHY DAVID WOODS Tftaat s4t6letic COOKIE HOLT BOBBY TERRY tyrouc ceAt LINDA HUTCHINSON JUNIOR HOLT KLINT KELLEY '?Unti€4t ANN TEMPLETON RONNIE BEAN ANITA FARROW ORGANIZATIONS All the world’s a stage And all the men and women merely players: They have their exits and their entrances; And one man in his time plays many parts, . . .
