But wait! The “limestone” doesn’t click Keith Covey says it’s yellow brick. Nonetheless I praise these halls As they resound with loud phone calls. Though bathrooms here were put in late Through an architect’s mistake We don’t care, ’cause we adore How they make rivers on the floor. SAGA’s here, and we are blessed With chicken cooked before it’s dressed. No matter if the liver’s green It goes quite well with cold wax beans. O Goodhue fair! ORGANIZATIONS Aprii 13, 1984 To whom it may concern: After a presentation of the proposal by the Central American Solidarity Group, the Carleton chapter of the Minnesota Public Interest Research Group has voted overwhelmingly in favor of the proposed Symposium. As an education-oriented group of students, we of MPIRG strongly support having such a symposium because we feel that it would bring to a focus the issues and facts of the current Central American situation. This is a timely topic which none of us can afford to ignore. But our support of the CASG Syposium goes beyond merely supporting the idea behind it; we could hardly wish to support just any sypmosium on the situation at hand, for an unbalanced or otherwise biased symposium would by no means eniaghten members of our community. We support the Symposium proposal because we believe that Mr. Wynia and the other organizers and planners of the Symposium wiil work hard to ensure that speakers represent opposing sides of the issues at hand; that discussion panels wili have a make-up such that they too wili be representative of opposing viewpoints; that individual members of the audience will have the opportunity to question each speaker regardless of whether a discussion panel has been set up for that particular talk; that students will not be denied entrance to Symposium events. We encourage all persons with an interest in the future of the Americas to help bring the CASG Symposium to Carieton Coliege.
